Maternity Reflexology is an area of special interest for me and I have undertaken additional training and study with Susanne Enzer, and have been awarded the Certificate of Competancy in Maternity Reflexology.
Pregnancy should never be considered as an illness or as a burden. But pregnancy can be physically and emotionally stressful.
Reflexology has a lot to
offer in the way of relief for niggles and complaints.
You can have Maternity Reflexology
from the earliest stage of your pregnancy with a qualified therapist like me. We have had training in the physiology and anatomy of pregnancy and understand which reflexes to be wary of or those that can add benefit to your treatments.
Reflexology to prime for labour is a method by which specific reflex points are strongly stimulated with the intention of creating a boost of energy to encourage the onset of labour contractions. Many women who are post-term and have no problems respond well. One or two treatments may be necessary, if no previous reflexology has been given.
can help with the following complaints during pregnancy:
Hemorrhoids / Piles
Constipation or loose stools
Sickness and nausea
Help you relax and take time out for yourself
Swelling, puffiness and cramp around the legs and ankles
Symptoms of pregnancy induced Diabetes and High Blood
Sleepless nights, fatigue and exhaustion
End of pregnancy:

Preparation for labour - preparing your reflexes of the hormones, cervix, uterus and your baby.

Even though Reflexology is mostly a safe therapy, some conditions are contraindicated to the Reflexology treatment during Pregnancy and they require immediate medical intervention:

- Placenta praevia
- Continuous vomiting
- Toxaemia: Pre-Ecclampsia - Ecclampsia
- Pica Syndrome
- HELLP Syndrome
- DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)
